A little about me

HI, MY NAME IS Rachel

I am a ceramic artist from southeastern, PA. I went to the University of Delaware for Fine Arts, she served as Education Assistant and workshop instructor for The Clay Studio of Philadelphia for 5 years after that. I was bitten by the atmospheric firing bug in 2017 at a sweet little studio nestled into the rolling hills of Chester County. I set off chasing the flame by spending two years as a resident artist and assistant at Virginia’s Cub Creek Foundation where I focused on my artistic development and investigating woodfiring. I went off to Utah State University where I pursued a Post-Baccalaureate and formalized my knowledge of forms, glaze calculation, atmospheric firings and kiln design.  In 2023, I was the Interim Director of Cub Creek Foundation and planned multiple workshops and firings for the resident artists and budding ceramic artists in the area.  I am now back teaching at The Clay Studio of Philadelphia, working as a Kiln Technician for All Kiln Services, and firing woodkilns in the area.
